There is another product called an efergy meter. In qld climatesmart come out and install one for $50. If you are in the B.C.C you get it for free. Be carefull, these can be addictive. Try turning the air-con, kettle, clothes dryer and vacum on all at the same time and watch the little meter go!!!

Well, as it can be installed so easily without breaking / cutting any wires, its renter-safe as you can just take it with you to the next place.

The dollar-value of your current power usage is great for kids, theres no point telling them how many killowatts they are using, but telling them they are spending $1 per hour means a lot more.

I am fascinated with that little gadget, it's something that renters can use as well as our electricity is separate to our rent 9although not for all renters). I think it is also an amazing educational tool for kids, they would just gain so much info through listening to you talking about it and watching it for themselves.
